Learn how to Integrate knowledge about the economy and its direction with education and workforce development planning. How will we position and elevate our workforce for economic growth and opportunity.

Dr. Larry Swanson is a Ph.D. economist and Director of the O’Connor Center for the Rocky Mountain West at the University of Montana. He has exten-sively studied and analyzed the changing economy of the state and larger region and regularly conveys information and analyses about the economy to community and economic development organizations throughout the region. He is currently doing a two-year study of job growth and change in Montana and also projecting areas of job growth in the future, while also doing analysis of the "quality" of this job growth, education and training re-quirements, and varying pay levels for different jobs in the economy. Larry has a doctorate from the University of Nebraska and is also is a former journalist and private economic consultant affiliat-ed with a Washington, D.C., based firm. He is a member of the board of PASCAL Observatory – an international consortium based from Glasgow University in Scotland.
